15 kva single phase transformer

15 kva single phase pole mounted transformer/QIANLAI ELECTRIC

15 kva single phase transformer Application

The overhead transformer may be used alone for the supply of a single phase load or as one of three units in a bank for the supply of a three phase load. The unit may be direct mounted to a wooden or concrete pole, or cluster mounted on a pole for three phase use.

Since the establishment of QIANLAI ELECTRIC, we have been dedicated to the research, development, production and sales of 15 kva single phase transformer, becoming a trusted partner for energy projects worldwide. As a specialized manufacturer, QIANLAI ELECTRIC integrates technical precision, durability and energy efficiency into every product, meeting the strictest requirements of both local and international markets.

Why 15 kva single phase transformer is not so common used in china?

One end of a single phase transformer is connected to a high voltage line, and the other end is directly grounded. Power supply can be realized with just one high voltage line—this is the working principle of a single-phase transformer. This method is highly cost-effective, as it saves the expense of an additional high voltage line and its corresponding installation accessories. However, why is this approach no longer adopted in China today?

Because this wiring configuration is equivalent to a fault condition under current standards and must be rectified within two hours. The reasons are as follows: the ground resistance is not only high but also unstable, and the lower the voltage, the more significant the impact. Additionally, it causes interference to communication lines. In the event of a lightning strike, it would be equivalent to a phase line being directly struck by lightning, which is extremely dangerous. For these reasons, single-phase transformers have been gradually phased out.

At present, China’s high voltage power distribution mandates a three-phase system, while low-voltage distribution must adopt a three-phase four/five-wire system. The neutral line system consists of a neutral wire and a protective earth wire. The neutral line must be grounded at a single end: the neutral wire is connected to the neutral point of the transformer, and the protective earth wire is connected to the grounding grid. The neutral wire is used for the return of unbalanced currents in the three-phase system, while the protective earth wire is designed for grounding electrical appliance enclosures and discharging lightning currents.

Undoubtedly, this configuration incurs higher costs and is far from economical, but it ensures superior power supply quality. Nowadays, scenarios such as voltage fluctuations between 100V and 220V, underperforming electric heaters, and electric refrigerators damaged by voltage issues are rarely encountered by Chinese consumers.
