Structural Characteristics of 167 KVA pole mounted transformer
Single phase pole mounted transformer are common power equipment featuring a simple structure and small size. Their main structural characteristics are as follows:
- Core Structure: There are various structural forms. The common core-type structure adopts a double-coil and single-core configuration, with the core designed in a top-opening style; the shell-type structure is a single-coil and double-core configuration, and its core mostly adopts a side-opening mode. The core is usually made of silicon steel sheets or amorphous alloys and adopts a wound core structure, which ensures that the magnetic flux direction is consistent with the grain orientation of the silicon steel sheets, resulting in no-load loss far lower than the standard requirements.
- Winding Structure: The high-voltage windings are generally wound with high-quality polyurethane enameled round copper wires, while the low-voltage windings are wound with cable paper-covered wires. Dot adhesive paper is used for interlayer insulation. During the drying process, adjacent layers of the windings are bonded into a fixed unit, ensuring the safety and reliability of the insulation structure. The winding arrangement generally adopts a low-voltage to high-voltage structure, and some shell-type structures adopt a low-voltage to high-voltage to low-voltage structure.
- Tank Structure: The tank is generally made into a cylindrical shape with 2–3mm cold-rolled steel plates, and the tank cover is made of 3mm steel plates. The tank cover and the barrel body can be connected by hoop clamps or compression nail structures, and upper and lower mounting lifting plates are welded on the barrel body. The tank usually adopts a fully sealed structure to enhance operational reliability, achieving maintenance-free operation under normal conditions. An air gap is reserved at the top inside to accommodate the volume change of transformer oil caused by thermal expansion and contraction. Corrugated fins or plate-type radiators can also be equipped according to performance requirements.
- Bushing Structure: The number of high-voltage bushings can be 1 (single bushing) or 2 (double bushings). The high-voltage side of transformers with single bushings does not undergo withstand voltage tests, while those with double bushings have both bushings led out from the top of the tank cover. The number of low-voltage bushings is generally 2, 3 or 4. Low-voltage bushings are usually led out from the side. For low-voltage dual-voltage applications, the bushings can be connected in parallel or series.
- Protection Devices: If protection functions (CSP) are required, the high-voltage side should be equipped with surge arresters and fuses, and the low-voltage side should be equipped with circuit breakers. Surge arresters can also be installed on the low-voltage side as needed. The circuit breaker can be equipped with or without an overload indicator light; if not, an independent indicator light needs to be configured separately.
